Tami King is the founder of Technically Speaking, Inc., and serves as its President. In addition to managing the financial, legal and logistical demands of operating a rapidly growing business, she continues to proactively generate new business while strengthening relationships with current clients and instructors.
Prior to launching the company in 2002, Tami had been working as a recruiter for a Microsoft Learning Solutions partner. At that time, the IT training market was experiencing difficulties and companies were laying off trainers and going bankrupt. Several of the technical instructors she had worked with had been financially impacted by this. Tami believed that if she could help put money in the pockets of others, it would eventually come back to her. With that motivation combined with Tami’s persistence, the company was formed.
Tami is widely known for her business ethics, her promptness in paying her instructors and vendors, and her desire to provide excellent customer service.
Tami is an active volunteer on the Advisory Board for North East High School’s Center of Information Technology in St. Petersburg, FL. She is also a mentor for Pinellas County School systems and has assisted in reading programs for second graders in economically challenged areas.
Tami is currently enrolled in Leadership St. Pete (LSP), the second oldest leadership development program in America. LSP is a dynamic, intensive, interactive experience designed to promote and enhance community leadership through an in-depth introduction to social, economic, business and political issues.
Tami’s vision for the company’s future is one of international growth. Technically Speaking is involved in extensive IT training outside the U.S., and has instructors capable to teach in non-English speaking languages.
